From leotards and jazzercise to fitness apps and online coaching, I've been dedicated to helping women with their goals from the start of the "fitness craze" (you know, back when "muscle heads" were the only gym members).
My name is Lisa Swanson, and I am the founder and owner of Body & Soul Coaching, an online health coaching business I started to help women over 50 build the confidence and healthy lifestyle they desire.
I decided to start Body & Soul Coaching years ago, on my 50th birthday. After three decades in the fitness industry and running three successful fitness studios, helping hundreds of women with a number of fitness goals, I decided to narrow my focus. Empowering women in midlife became my passion after turning 50 and realizing how much support was missing for these women.
Even more so, I understand the life of a busy woman, a working mom and someone going through midlife. I ran my first studio while being a single mom to two young girls. Managing three businesses, shortly after remarrying and now with teenage daughters, I definitely knew the overwhelming difficulties of trying to balance my life. And now, in midlife, I have faced the same challenges and changes we all face going through the stress of going through many transitions at once, such as my daughters moving out, taking care of my parents, maintaining a healthy relationship, working and more. I've met some amazing women throughout my career who needed guidance on how to juggle everything and take care of themselves so they could show up every day with confidence.

Meet Coach Renee
Renee Thomas joined Body & Soul Coaching in 2023 as an ISSA certified fitness trainer, certified healthcare life coach and licensed behavioral therapist with over 18 years of experience helping people achieve their goals. She is so excited to bring her passion and skills to the table as one of the coaches on your team.
As a woman in midlife herself, she knows the importance of taking care of your health as you age as well as the struggles women face as they navigate physical and emotional challenges that come during this period of time. Throughout her personal and professional experience, she’s learned the importance of connection between physical and mental health which fits in perfectly with Body & Soul’s holistic approach to weight loss. Along with providing fitness and nutrition support to our clients, she helps women to push past limiting beliefs so they can achieve their goals and experience midlife to the fullest. A little personal story about Renee? In graduate school, she began trail running as a way to cope with life stressors. She had it in her head that she would never be able to run more than a 10k, but with a shift in mindset and finding the right support system, she was able to complete a half-marathon in 2014, a full marathon in 2015 and an ultra-marathon in 2019! This is exactly the kind of energy she brings to the Body & Soul Coaching team. She’s eager to be a part of your journey and can’t wait to give you her full support as you reach your own health and weight loss goals. |
Meet Coach Lisa T.
Lisa holds a B.S. in Exercise Science and is certified as an ACSM Exercise Physiologist and Personal Trainer. Over her 35-year career in wellness and fitness, she has pursued extensive training, earning her 200hr and 500hr Yoga Teacher Certifications in 2017 and 2021 respectively. Lisa is also certified in nutrition, women's fitness, and senior fitness.
Her journey into yoga began in 2004, revealing to her the profound mind-body connection essential for holistic health. This awareness has been pivotal in navigating midlife changes and the challenges of menopause. Lisa integrates insights from yoga, including Ayurvedic medicine, Adaptive Yoga, and Yoga for Menopause, Addiction, and Trauma, into her coaching and personal training sessions. In 2015, after gaining extensive experience working with the military, fitness centers, medical environments, and yoga studios, Lisa embarked on launching her own business in training, coaching, and yoga. This endeavor has enabled her to engage with diverse clientele using a holistic approach, focusing on comprehensive health and wellness. Lisa addresses physical fitness along with nutrition, mindfulness, awareness, and stress management, aiming to nurture overall well-being. Outside her professional life, Lisa finds joy in hiking and fishing with her husband of 35 years. She treasures moments with her adult twin sons and her rescue dogs, Larry and Brutus. Lisa's adventurous spirit has led her to run marathons in Madrid and Amsterdam, multiple half marathons, and a Sprint Triathlon in Germany while living in Europe. Currently, she is preparing to celebrate her birthday with a trek across the Grand Canyon Rim to Rim in October. |
